Fast forward to when I met my husband, by this time I was so pro healthy eating that, once a month, I went on a fruit fast for a week or a vegetable fast. By vegetable, I mean, vegetables that can be eaten uncooked, like Cucumber, Cabbage etc. So each time I visited my soon to become husband, I gathered all the fruits I could lay my hands on or at least all the ones I could afford and dump it in his refrigerator. And then, I will treat myself to a very chilled packaged fruit juice which was never missing in his refrigerator (well, that should have told me something). Since I was mostly on short visits, I didn't notice that 'Bros' wasn't very much of a fruit person. Well, I was out on a mission to change the eating habits of the average Nigerian and force everyone if i could to go on a fruit or vegetable fast, take fruits at least once a day and only God knows what else so my dearly beloved just happened to be my trials as we would call it in the laboratory. So we got married and I noticed that fruits stayed so long in the refrigerator until they turned rancid especially watermelon, yet our packaged, not too healthy fruit juices were leaving the fridge as soon as they came. It dawned on me then, that hubby was not a fruit person except that fruit was Banana but he loved anything that could be poured into a cup and drank. Wow! here was I breaking my neck to get fruits, I was quite disappointed until my 'Drink-mix' mind got to work. I just make healthy juices from the fruits and hubby loves them. They aren't as sweet as the packaged drinks but I can assure you they are healthy. They are mostly easy to make, so you can try them at home. I will put up some recipes with time. Whole fruits or Fruit juices, what's your preference? Whatever preference you have is alright. What isn't right is not preferring any.
I'm a Christian wife to a great Christian guy but the fact is all the books never really tell you what to expect. They just guide you and I am privileged to have been guided and I am having the time of my life (I'm still quite new though). However, I will love to 'talk' away with newbies like me some major adjustments that this new status comes with and I will be grateful to hear from our seniors too. Prospective newbies you are welcome to learn. So you got it, that is what this blog is about!

WHOLE FRUITS OR FRUIT JUICES
I am one person who believes in healthy living and to achieve that, fruits are a common feature in my menu. However, I was raised by a mother who made drinks and loves drinks too. She made 'Punch', yoghurt, Chocolate drinks, and even some traditional drinks like 'Kunu' and 'Zobo'. Growing up in that house as the first child, I learned to make the drinks and then I learned to create new ones from existing ones. I found out early in life that I just enjoyed the burst of flavours when two drinks were combined so I did some unimaginable things that my dear mum never got to know. Some tasted right, some were plain bland while others were...smh. One experience I will never forget is the day I attempted to make a juice from African Star Apple (agbalumo or udara). Hmmmm, my mother's blender has an indelible mark as a result of that experiment. I would therefore advise that you don't try this at home. After this experience, I took a long break off creating drinks or juices.
